While everyone expected The Coalition to lift the veil on Gears 6 during the Xbox Games Showcase 2024, the Xbox-owned studio finally created a surprise with Gears of War: E-Day, a prequel allowing delve into the first encounter with the Locust menace. Although the game is particularly discreet, the studio took advantage of the 18th anniversary of Gears of War to announce news that should please fans, at least those who play it in the original version.

The original voices of Marcus and Dom will be back in VO

Gears of War: E-Day will immerse us in the youth of Marcus Fenix and Dominic Santiago, as they face the terrible Day of Emergence. Thus, those who enjoy the game in its original version will be happy to learn that John Dimaggio and Carlos Ferro will once again voice Marcus and Dom respectively.

Unfortunately, French-speaking players will not have the luxury of hearing again the voices they have known in the past, since the actor José Luccioni (Marcus) died at 72 in 2022 and Thierry Mercier (Dom) at 62 years in 2023.

It will certainly be difficult for those who take over to offer performances as striking and touching as those made by José Luccioni and Thierry Mercier all these years.

Unfortunately, you will have to be very patient to learn more about this, since no release year has been communicated by The Coalition for Gears of War: E-Day. Note also that apart from Steam, we are not aware of the platforms on which the game will be available.
