The Chinese foldable smartphone market has become a real battlefield. Faced with Huawei, Honor, Oppo and other Xiaomi, Samsung draws a new weapon: the W25, a premium version of its Galaxy Z Fold 6.
Even if the market shares of foldable smartphones are not that significant, for the moment, this segment is experiencing a real revolution, particularly in China.

Samsung, the fallen king of foldable smartphones: Huawei leading the race
Faced with increasingly aggressive local competition, Samsung is trying to maintain its position with the launch of the W25, a premium version of its Galaxy Z Fold 6.
In China, local players like Huawei, Honor, Xiaomi and Oppo have taken a considerable lead. Huawei, in particular, made a resounding comeback with its Mate X5, while Honor and Xiaomi are increasing their product launches. This fierce competition has pushed Samsung to review its strategy for the Chinese market.
Samsung has not skimped on resources with its W25. The device differs from the international version of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 in several aspects.
Premium positioning
With an 8-inch main screen and a more refined design, including a gold textured frame and a matte black back, the W25 clearly plays the premium card. 1.5 mm thinner than its international counterpart, it nevertheless packs all the power of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.
It also has 16 GB of RAM and storage options of up to 1 TB. The photo system remains faithful to Samsung’s winning formula: a 200 MP main sensor, accompanied by a 12 MP ultra-wide-angle and a 10 MP telephoto lens.
On the pricing side, with a starting price equivalent to 2,200 euros, Samsung is clearly positioning the W25 in the premium segment, well above the international version sold for around 1,900 euros.
