Samsung and Apple would have the same strategy on the smartphone market for 2025: a new compact format. According to an article fromET News released on October 31, 2024, the South Korean firm would adopt the thin approach of the Galaxy Z Fold SE and apply it to the Galaxy S25.
We would thus have a potential “Galaxy S25 Slim” during the year, which could also have consequences on the Galaxy S26 range. The South Korean media explains that several of its sources have recently highlighted that this version could “change the range next year [2026] after seeing the market response”.
This means that if the Galaxy S25 Slim is successful, there is a good chance that one of the traditional models in the range will disappear with the S26 generation. Previous rumors also mentioned the potential withdrawal of the standard model, as Samsung was able to do this year by not launching a small Galaxy Tab S10 tablet.
Besides testing consumer response to a thinner Galaxy S, Samsung would have excellent timing against Apple. According to Jukanlosreve, the Galaxy S25 Slim would arrive in April 2025, just after an iPhone SE 4 full of new features. This would thus overshadow Apple, which would wait until the next school year to lift the veil on its iPhone 17 Air, playing on finesse like its latest iPad Pro.
Regarding the name “Slim”, the latter has not yet been confirmed. However, it is a safe bet that this model will ultimately materialize in the long-awaited Galaxy S25 FE. The latest rumors pointed to a spring launch or its much thinner format. Jukanlosreve also admits that the Exynos 2400 would be in the game, the chip recently considered for the Galaxy S25 FE.
