Harman Kardon makes a point of taking care of the design of its speakers, which often adopt an elegant yet sober look. We have good proof here with the Citation One MKIII model, equipped with a wool fabric dress, which does not retain dirt, according to the brand. This Bluetooth speaker also has the advantage of being particularly light since it weighs no more than 2 kg. You can therefore change rooms as you wish. Even if it works wirelessly, we should however avoid placing it outdoors since the brand has not deemed it useful to add an IP protection index.
As specified just above, the Citation One MKIII is completely wireless and works only over Wi-Fi (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz) or with Bluetooth 4.2. It is also AirPlay compatible and integrates Google Assistant as well as a Chromecast, to broadcast audio content from a smartphone or tablet very easily. The speaker can also be configured and managed from the Google Home app.
A practical multiroom speaker
At the heart of the Citation One MKIII, we find a 20mm tweeter and a single 89mm woofer. With such a configuration, the speaker benefits from a respectable output power of 40 W RMS; other models from the brand do much better, but the brand promises a sufficiently rich and spacious sound. Note that it is possible to create stereo sound by combining two Citation One MKIII speakers. Above all, the multiroom function is included: you can therefore connect several Citation speakers in different rooms of your home so that they all broadcast the same music or the same podcast everywhere.
Finally, the speaker is equipped with microphones that can be activated or muted very easily; LED indicators are even present on the device to check at a glance if the microphones are active.
