The teenagers from ALSH (Accueils de Loisirs Sans Hébergement) went to the library this Tuesday, October 29, to discover a virtual escape game: “Keep talking and nobody explodes”.

“The person who has the virtual reality headset is in a room under threat of a bomb. To defuse it, you have to solve 3 puzzles in 5 minutes by communicating with your friends on the phone”explain Maïssa, Mélina, Donia and Soraya, who played this game for the first time and really liked it.

Mélyan is also delighted with the experience: “I really appreciated having the headset to describe my environment. It’s sometimes difficult to make yourself understood but it’s interesting.”

For several years, the adolescent leisure center has been in contact with the library on joint projects: “Bringing teenagers back to this place when they are in college is important. We take advantage of the holidays here to keep them busy with motivating activities. This is focused on new technologies in the form of a cooperation game which has two levels of mediation in a limited time. This requires mastery of emotions, time and communication.”explains Benjamin, the ALSH facilitator. Aurore, the cultural activities manager, prepared this intervention with Joan: “The Community of Communes of the Hérault Valley (CCVH) lent us the equipment and we tested it before the teenagers came. It was not easy at the start and after several sessions, we got better understood the game in order to be able to practice it.” The debriefing carried out at the end of the session showed the interest of this first experiment.

Next meeting: Friday November 22 for an evening on the theme of debate at the ALSH.
