Marvel's Spider-Man 2 version 1.004 now supports PlayStation 5 Pro, including new graphics modes and tweaks.

PERFORMANCE PRO (default for PlayStation 5 Pro)

This mode aims for a smooth frame rate of 60 frames per second while retaining the image quality of standard Fidelity mode through the use of PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR). All ray tracing (RT) features are enabled, including ray tracing reflections, water ray tracing, and indoor window ray tracing. This mode is recommended for most players.

PRO LOYALTY

This mode targets 30 frames per second for players who want to experiment with new ray tracing graphics features. These new features can be individually adjusted to achieve higher intermediate frame rates, especially when using the “VRR” or “120Hz Display Mode” options. Pedestrian and traffic density can be increased in certain areas, and fine hair detail is increased.

NEW GRAPHIC SETTINGS

RT Light Shadows: Off (Performance) / On (Default Fidelity)
Use ray tracing to calculate mid- and long-distance shadows from the sun, replacing cascading shadow maps. This improvement has the most impact on views of the city. Only available in “Pro Loyalty” graphics mode.

Reflections and Interiors RT: Medium (Performance) / High (Default Fidelity)
Set the quality level of ray traced reflections and building window interiors. The “Medium” setting performs ray tracing at half the rendering resolution, and the “High” setting performs ray tracing at full rendering resolution. The “High” setting will also improve the smoothness of animation in reflections and interiors. Only available in “Pro Loyalty” graphics mode.

Ambient Occlusion RT: Off (Performance) / Medium / High (Default Fidelity)
Use ray tracing to calculate additional information about ambient occlusion lighting. The “Medium” setting uses this information to increase the ambient occlusion of the screen space. The “High” setting also adds screen space GI bounce for additional information about ambient lighting. The visual impact of this feature varies greatly depending on the scene.
