See you at the Panalan horse races, in Plounévézel, on Sunday

As with every event at the Penalan racecourse, in Plounévézel (Finistère), those responsible for the Poher company and their president, Jean-Yves Le Bras, are hoping for good weather. But that of Sunday May 26, 2024 is not binding. President “hopes for a change”, because the sun determines the arrival of the public.

In any case, the site will be ready and for several days, volunteers have been taking care of the routes and the surrounding areas. “During the April events, many owners and jockeys praised the condition of the track. A compliment that goes straight to our hearts and which attests to the work carried out by those who give of their time, underlines Jean-Yves Le Bras. For their part, spectators have a breathtaking view of the racetrack. Which also makes Penalan so charming. »

Eight races

For this second meeting, eight races, four steeplechase and four harness trotting, are planned. “Nearly 80 riders and their mounts, coming from the Great West, will line up on the starting lines. » They will try to win prizes and score points for the Brittany challenge. As for the bettors, they will try to find the best combinations.

Race Festival

If the older ones will therefore be ” their business “ the little ones will also find something to have fun, since this day is also dedicated to them, thanks to the Race Festival operation. “The objective is to promote the equestrian world to young audiences, through the races, specifies Jean-Yves Le Bras. D Free activities and games will be offered, such as an inflatable structure, makeup workshops, pony baptisms and… a free distribution of cotton candy during snack time! They can even try their hand at betting, during the little tipster game. »

Sunday May 26, horse racing, in Penalan, from 2 p.m. On site refreshment bar and fast food. Entrance: €6; free for under 18s.
