WhatsApp will soon be able to generate your profile photo using AI

The instant messaging application is developing a function to create your profile photo using artificial intelligence.

AI is increasingly present in our daily lives and it seems that no application will escape it, not even WhatsApp. Instant messaging is in fact preparing a new feature powered by artificial intelligence, to generate your user profile photo.

Your WhatsApp profile photo soon generated by AI

Always very well informed when it comes to WhatsApp, WABetaInfo reports having discovered in the latest Android beta, stamped, a new feature powered by AI. Supported by a screenshot, this leaves no room for doubt: it will allow you to generate a profile photo by directly entering a prompt describing the desired image. For the moment, it seems that the function only allows the generation of an image from a description, without the possibility of using a photo on which to base it.

The idea of using an AI-generated profile picture can be interesting on several levels. This will allow, for example, users without a photo to illustrate their profile without having to use a personal photo. Above all, this functionality can be seen as a solution to strengthen the confidentiality of users who will no longer need to reveal their face on their WhatsApp profile. It is indeed not rare for WhatsApp profile photos, which can be displayed in full screen by everyone, to be stolen by ill-intentioned souls to create false profiles.

This new function, still under development, should arrive within a few months in the stable version of the application. The use of artificial intelligence to animate a feature is not a first for WhatsApp. Messaging already made use of it a few months ago when it deployed its module allowing the creation and sharing of stickers generated by AI.
