In order to compensate for the obsolescence of the systems, LG had announced the possibility of a top-down update, that is to say offered on older and especially future models for the next 5 years, thus allowing users to take advantage of developments in the system.

So, as promised, LG OLED C3 and G3 TVs can now benefit from webOS 24 as several users have already noticed in the United States and Europe. They report that the version of firmware now carries version 23.20.50.

Chromecast on board LG TVs

One of the biggest new features in webOS 24 is Chromecast integration. This allows Android devices to send audio and video content to the wirelessly without the need for other devices. Remember that the Apple AirPlay function is already available.

In addition, we can also count on the chatbot which is there to help with the use of the TV. Also note the possibility of recognizing the user’s voice for immediate identification and delivering personalized services accordingly.

Otherwise, this interface is slightly modified compared to the previous one with in particular, for certain regions, a Sport section which allows you to follow the results of your favorite team.

Of course, like each new version, several bugs are also fixed.

The models affected by this update possibility are LG OLED and LCD TVs including the QNED 2023 series which will also be able to benefit from webOS 25, 26 and 27 while the brand’s OLED and LCD 8K TVs are compatible with webOS versions 23, 24, 25 and 26. Please note, LG specifies that it is not possible to return to webOS if you have switched to webOS 24.
