If One UI 7 and Android 15 are not expected to arrive on Samsung smartphones before 2025, the latter has nevertheless kept its promise regarding its televisions. In an effort to unify its different ecosystems, the manufacturer announced only a few days ago the arrival of its One UI overlay on its TVs. According to the American media Sammobile, deployment is already underway on certain televisions, including the 2023 OLED S90C model.

A (very) rapid deployment of One UI

Based on Tyzen 8.0, One UI for Samsung televisions promises a lot of changes and improvements in this new interface inspired by that offered on mobile. We will notably note new icons and animations and a settings menu in overlay more compact and modern.

A “For You” tab also offers personalized recommendations for content and applications, while a “Watch Later” function allows you to save content to a list. The user’s latest searches and related content are now part of the recommendations.

TVs are modeled on smartphones

The Game Bar also benefits from a new interface, and Samsung has added support for gadgets and wallpapers to make the pause screen more interesting. Finally, among other additions more or less related to what One UI already offers on smartphones, we will note the possibility of connecting your Galaxy Watch to benefit from your health data on your TV.

Samsung said it will support its TVs with operating system updates for 7 years. A long-term promise to be welcomed, as is the case for the Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 tablets. It now remains to be seen which exact models from 2023 and 2024 will be affected by this update, and whether or not all of them will benefit from all the new features found there.
