A robotic companion to soothe you
Moflin is Casio’s latest addition: a robot designed to offer comfort. Unlike other robots like Sony’s Aibo, which follows its owner, Moflin is meant to be held and cuddled. It adopts a particularly comforting appearance, a sort of hamster in the shape of a hairy sausage. Equipped with artificial intelligence, because it’s fashionable, this robot can recognize the person who interacts with it the most and develop a simulated relationship through sounds and movements exclusive

Limited availability
Developed in collaboration with the Japanese start-up Vanguard Industries, Moflin is sold only in Japan for around 380 euros. For the moment, there is no official information on possible distribution in Europe. If you’re looking for a unique gadget, however, this could be a great buy to bring back on your next trip to Japan! It is designed to be easy to use, with an approach focused on human interaction rather than complex and unnecessary features.
Mental well-being forward
Moflin is not content to be a simple technological object. Its movements and sounds are specifically designed to provide a feeling of comfort and calm. The robot’s artificial intelligence allows it to recognize its owner through voice and physical interactions. All of this aims to create a personalized experience, where Moflin develops a unique relationship with each user. Even better than a cat! Less litter. It is nevertheless specified that its simulated emotions, such as joy or anxiety, are not expressed directly but can be observed via a dedicated mobile application. The application also allows you to adjust parameters such as the volume of the sounds it emits.
And he has a little bed!
Moflin comes with a bed that serves as a charging stationand that’s still very cute. A full charge allows the robot to operate for approximately five hours. Casio also offers an annual subscription service for around 42 euros, offering discounts on repairs, cleaning and even a complete fur replacement if needed. A bit like the health insurance you take out for your pet, in fact.
Well, it’s still cute, isn’t it? Hoping that the thing’s AI won’t suggest it attacks you in your sleep!
