Ghost of Tsushima, the PC version disappears from the Steam offer in more than 170 countries

The PC version of Ghost of Tsushima: DIRECTOR’S CUT has been removed from Steam in over 170 countries. This news comes after the Helldivers 2 affair which forced Sony to backtrack on its PSN account requirements.

The firm announces the removal of the Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut Steam page. This decision affects countries where PSN service is not available. A little less than 200 countries are affected. At the moment there is no clear explanation for this choice. It is even difficult to understand because Sucker Punch has confirmed that it would not be mandatory to have a PSN account to play this title on Steam (single player mode).

In any case, Valve is automatically refunding Ghost of Tsushima pre-orders made in the affected regions. This policy is also observed at the key seller Green Man Gaming. A message explains

You receive a refund for a game you pre-purchased – Ghost of Tsushima. The publisher now requires a secondary account to play certain parts of this game – and this account cannot be created from your country.

The PC release of Ghost of Tsushima is fast approaching. It is scheduled for May 16.
