La Défense station had to be closed from 10 p.m. this Friday evening due to smoke, RATP reported on X (formerly Twitter). Traffic is therefore disrupted on the RER A, metro line 1, Transilien line L and the T2 tramway. “The trains pass without stopping”, indicates the RATP, specifying that “connections in the station are impossible”.

The RATP specified on X that the fumes in question “probably come from the Cnit shopping center, connected by direct access to the station. To Le Parisien, the firefighters confirmed that an intervention was indeed underway, without being able to give further details at the moment. After announcing a resumption at 11 p.m., the RATP indicated that the station would remain closed “until further notice”.

This incident occurs when the station should have been particularly busy this Friday evening, with American star Taylor Swift giving her second concert at La Défense Arena, accessible from this station. Those affected “are invited to take the RER A from Nanterre-Préfecture station which is right next door”, indicates the RATP https://twitter.com/RER_A/status/1789028917866615177. For travelers on line 1, La Défense being a terminus, you must reach the Esplanade de La Défense station.
