The PS5 Pro GPU reveals its details

This information, which should be taken with a grain of salt, details the GPU of the PS5 Pro. The graphics processing unit is said to have a clock frequency of 2.18 GHz which can be pushed up to 2.35 GHz. Thanks to this increase, the performance in ray tracing would be improved. That’s not all : Digital Foundry specifies that the GPU would benefit from the latest innovations of DirectX 12 Ultimate. In particular the shading variable rate and a new approach to hybrid MSAA. These improvements would result in a performance gain of around 45% for games.

Finally, the PS5 Pro would have 30 WGP (WorkGroup Processors), offering computing power of 33.5 teraflops, memory at 18,000 MT/s and a PSSR (PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution Upscaling) upscaling/antialiasing solution. As a reminder, this is the equivalent of Nvidia’s DLSS, for example.

The PS5 Pro could arrive at the end of 2024.
