Solidarity walk in Sept-Îles with people suffering from chronic pain

The “Let’s walk together against pain” event will take place simultaneously in four municipalities in Quebec, including Sept-Îles. The solidarity walk with people living with this disease is planned for Saturday, May 18 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the yellow tent, at Parc du Vieux-Quai.

The walk is organized by the Quebec Chronic Pain Association. Its objective is to raise awareness of the cause and break the isolation of people affected by it.

The population is invited free of charge to unite around this common cause. Although recognized as an illness since 2018, chronic pain remains an invisible evil which has very bad press and which still requires a lot of effort to raise awareness about it.

Celebrating its 20th anniversary, the AQDC is working to raise awareness of the disease and break the isolation of people affected by it. The Let’s Walk Together Against Chronic Pain event is an opportunity to bring together people living with pain, their loved ones and their healthcare professionals.

Participants will be invited to take a short 1 km walk in Vieux-Quai Park on May 18. A count of the distance traveled collectively through the various parks in Quebec will be announced by the Association. Marches also took place in Sherbrooke, and Lévis.
