This year, for the 13th edition of the Fête des Fleurs, the Coquelicot association and the Lions Club Auterive les 3 Vallées joined forces. The choice to support the charitable association Coquelicot, whose vocation is to help children hospitalized in the pediatric hemato-oncology department of Toulouse, is in line with the values of Lionism which are above all to support humanitarian actors local. Also, last Sunday, it was in a good mood that early in the morning, the volunteers worked on the Belvédère site to install stands of varied plants and colorful flowers, scenting the place. The numerous visitors did not hesitate to brave the gloomy weather to come and discover the flowers, vegetable plants and aromatic plants, intended to decorate interiors and gardens. The diversity of plants offered delighted amateurs, Sunday gardeners or enthusiasts, taking advantage of the wise advice of the producers. Everyone left, baskets loaded and smiles on their faces, with the pleasant feeling of having done a good deed. Because in reality, it is a celebration of the heart that the Coquelicots association takes part in every year to bring a little comfort to families and sick children hospitalized in Purpan. The event was a real success, demonstrating the still strong enthusiasm for gardening, nature and humanitarian commitment. The profits from this fruitful day were donated to the Association of Parents of Cancerous Children of Occitanie. The president of Apeco, Catherine Vie, accompanied by several representatives, joined the Mayor of Auterive, having wished to salute with their presence the action and the courageous investment of the volunteers of the two structures in this commendable charitable operation. “We are already looking forward to seeing you next year for the fourteenth edition!” the organizers announced with satisfaction.
