The Chinese brand Xiaomi has just released a… connected stroller! And that’s not all, since it comes with an Apple chip. A collaboration we would never have imagined.

Not only is it hard to imagine Xiaomi and Apple collaborating, but it is even harder to imagine these two brands producing a stroller. The question that arises above all is what good can a connected stroller be used for? The answer is actually quite simple: to be able to geolocate it in the event of loss or theft. It is specifically on this precise aspect that Apple intervenes with its Apple U1 chip, which uses radio signals to communicate.

This in itself is quite similar to an AirTag integrated directly into the stroller and for good reason, the U1 chip is already offered in AirTags, Apple Watches, HomePod and iPhones in order to improve their precision in space.

Otherwise, the stroller remains ordinary and rather compact: 63 x 58 x 38 centimeters, with an aluminum structure and polyurethane wheels. Which makes it a fairly solid model. Don’t expect to be able to easily get your hands on one, though: at the moment, it’s only available in China, and there’s no reason to think it will be available anywhere else in the near future. Furthermore, its price is still 2,099 yuan (270.10 euros).
