Sony Semiconductor Solutions will start sampling the ECX350F this October, a 0.44-inch Oled micro-screen which combines, according to the Japanese, the smallest pixels (5.1µm per side, i.e. a density of 5000ppi) and the highest brightness (up to 10000cd/m²). Particularly suitable for augmented reality glasses, this Full HD screen (1920×1080) benefits from a completely new manufacturing process, responsible for its high brightness. In comparison, the current ECX348E tops out at 5000cd/m², despite its larger pixels (6.3µm side). In addition, this process makes it possible to reduce the surface area allocated not to the screen itself but to its control blocks, so as to limit the height of the Full HD screen to only 7.99mm compared to 10.5mm previously.

Sony has also implemented a function consisting of displaying, in any portion of the screen, an image in a definition lower than Full HD and surrounded by a black frame. The ECX350F displays up to 120 frames per second, with greater than 100,000:1 contrast and 100% sRGB color coverage.
