A start to the month of May which is off to a flying start for PlayStation Plus subscribers. Sony has communicated on the “free” titles to be collected for members of third-party Essentials, Extra and Premium from May 7. And it’s heavy.

Once is not customary and yet: Sony is at it again with four games to collect and not three in the month of May 2024. A selection, as usual, eclectic and which includes some heavy stuff. There we find a very famous football simulation, a notable independent game from recent years or even a game that mixes action and nervousness in a cyberpunk platformer. They are all to be recovered from May 7regardless of the third party subscription involved.

EA FC 24

It was in the middle of the Champions epilogue that Electronic Arts and Sony decided to put EA Sports FC 24 in the PlayStation Plus games catalog. Although it is often the subject of promotions, the premier football simulation arrives “free” for PS+ subscribers. The opportunity for the latter (if they are football fans) to see that, if FIFA is no longer called FIFA, it is still the same type of experience that is provided there. To the delight of those in the know.

tunic

Tunic is probably one of the most notable independent video games of recent years. He knew how to charm the press and the public thanks to his cartoon aesthetic reminiscent of titles like Link’s Awakening on Nintendo Switch. And it’s not only in form that it’s similar to Zelda but also in substance. The fox hero fights with a sword and discovers useful objects for his exploration. It is also through its puzzles, specific to the game’s internal manual, that Tunic was able to convince when it was released in March 2022.

Ghostrunner 2

Ghostrunner 2 is, without a doubt, the most nervous video game on this list. Following on from the first released in October 2020, the player embodies (in first person view) a kind of cybernetic samurai in search of answers. He must deal with moments of platforming and high-speed action but above all high tension: every blow he receives is fatal to him. You must then start each sequence again in the event of an injury. Ghostrunner 2, released in October 2023, maintains this principle with more ambition by offering much more open areas than its predecessor.

Destiny 2

Bungie is entering its home stretch. Destiny 2’s next expansion, Final Form, is expected in early June. It is probably ahead of this that the studio offers, month after month, an extension in the PlayStation Plus catalog. After the Witch Queen distributed last March, it is the turn of Eclipse to be “offered” to subscribers. The Guardians are taken to Neptune where they must prevent the destruction of the secret and technologically advanced city of Néomuna.
