A catalog that extends well beyond tech
Before diving into the fascinating world of toilet paper, let’s remember one thing: Xiaomi is not just high-tech. The company offers thousands of different products, ranging from air fryers to air purifiers. But where it really gets interesting is when we take a look at Youpin, Xiaomi’s online sales platform in China.
It is there, among electronic gadgets and household appliances, that we find the rare gem: Xiaomi toilet paper. And believe me, it’s not just any PQ.
So what makes this toilet paper so special? First of all, it is made from natural bamboo pulp. Not just any bamboo: Xiaomi only uses bamboo harvested from a specific area in northern China.
But that’s not all. This toilet paper is completely natural: no chemicals, no dyes, no bleaching agents. Result ? A slightly greenish paper, but ultra-soft and perfect for sensitive skin.
By choosing bamboo, Xiaomi is making a gesture for the planet. Bamboo grows much faster than the trees traditionally used for toilet paper.
Additionally, this paper is made up of 4 layers, which makes it super durable. Xiaomi offers this PQ for only 11 cents per roll.
Unfortunately, there is a small downside to this story: for the moment, this toilet paper is only sold in China. Westerners will have to make do with smartphones and other tech gadgets from Xiaomi. At least, for now.
