The Huawei Pura 70 will be marketed in France, but there is a catch: they do not have 5G or Google services.
After the announcement in China, Huawei announced the release of its new range of smartphones, the Huawei Pura 70, in France. However, due to US sanctions, these Pura 70s do not have Google services and 5G.
Despite this, the Huawei Pura 70 has a major selling point: their photo quality which could prove exceptional.
As a reminder, the Huawei Pura 70 are equipped with the in-house SoC HiSilicon Kirin 9010a 6.8-inch Amoled LTPO 120 Hz screen, a 13 MP f/2.4 selfie camera and 100 watts fast charging via USB-C or 80 watts wireless.
The design is comparable to previous P series models, with a faux leather texture on the back and a circular camera module. However, the real selling point of the Huawei Pura 70 is their photo quality which could be exceptional.
A 1-inch sensor with retractable optics
Indeed, the Huawei Pura 70 is equipped with a 50-megapixel main camera with a 1-inch format sensor and a lens with variable aperture from f/1.6 to f/4.0, which makes the Extremely bright lens considering the size of the sensor.
Better yet, this main camera has retractable optics, meaning the lens comes out of the housing a few millimeters after it is turned on.
There’s also a much higher resolution 40 MP f/2.2 ultra-wide-angle camera and a 50 MP f/2.1 telephoto lens with 3.5x zoom, OIS and macro functionality.
Price and release date of the Pura 70
Here are the prices of the Huawei Pura 70 in France:
- Huawei Pura 70 with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage: 999 euros
- Huawei Pura 70 Pro with 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage: 1199 euros
- Huawei Pura 70 Ultra with 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage: 1499 euros
Pre-orders for the Huawei Pura 70 will begin on May 2 in France.
It is important to note that these prices are quite high compared to other high-end smartphones available in the market, but this can be justified by the photo quality offered by the devices. However, the absence of 5G and Google services are two significant drawbacks. We will have the opportunity to test them a little later.
