COATICOOK. The Coaticook Arts and Culture Pavilion will take on a fantastic air on October 5, when a magic gala will be presented.

On stage, Éric Leclerc, Michel Huot and the well-known businessman in the region, Jean-Pierre Lefebvre, will dazzle the spectators. They will be accompanied by one of the greatest magicians in Quebec. His identity remains secret, but the organizers promise a big surprise.

Promoted by Rues principales Coaticook, the event is in some ways a first step towards the return of the Fête de la magie. “We have always wanted to play on the theme of magic and fantasy,” emphasizes the organization’s general director, Julie Favreau. “We have wanted to revive this great festival for some time. This year, with the traveling theatre, we had quite a few in our yard. The idea of a gala, rather than a weekend of activities, was therefore retained.”

“It also closes our summer season in the city center,” she adds.

Two performances will be offered, at 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. “During our last edition of the Fête de la magie, there was also a gala,” recalls Ms. Favreau. “Parents told us that they would have liked to go as a family, but that the show was presented too late. So we’re going all out. The magicians accepted this formula. So we think it will be more family-friendly in the afternoon.”

Tickets, at a cost of $35 for adults, $15 for children and free for ages 0-5, are available at the online ticket office of the Pavillon des arts et de la culture de Coaticook.
