This year will be ten years since Apple presented the very first generation of Apple Watch. For the occasion, the American manufacturer is reportedly working on a major update of its connected watches with the Apple Watch Series 10 – or Apple Watch X – whose presentation is expected next fall.

For several months, rumors have been growing around this new generation which could offer more health measures, a new attachment system for the bracelet and even a new design. Lately, it’s the Taiwanese site DigiTimesgenerally very well informed on production lines, who revealed new information about the Apple Watch

DigiTimes reports that Apple has confirmed, in its fiscal balance sheet for the year 2023, to work again with an integrated circuit supplier, Nan Ya PCB. This supplier notably uses technology based on resin-coated copper for circuits that are even finer than what other chip manufacturers can offer. Above all, according to DigiTimesthis system should be offered for the different components of the future Apple Watch Series 10.

A thinner motherboard for more sensors in the watch

Obviously, thinner circuits with a layer of resin have several advantages, starting with better durability – particularly for use underwater – or the possibility of integrating more components. But, as DigiTimes reports, this also bodes well for a potentially even thinner watch. It is still unclear which path Apple will take between a thinner watch overall thanks to the space saved by the motherboard, or the integration of more components within the watch, whether it is a battery larger capacity or new health sensors.

Remember that Apple has been working on new health measures for its Apple Watches for several years. In addition to measuring blood sugar levels – which should not arrive this year – Apple is also working on a blood pressure measurement function directly on its connected watches.

We should know more about the new features of the Apple Watch Series 10 during its official presentation, expected next fall.
