iPad: Apple halts update rollout due to serious bugs

The launch of iOS 18 seems to be going smoothly. However, things seem much more chaotic with iPadOS 18, which would make some iPads completely inoperable.

While we’ve been talking mainly about the launch of iOS 18 since Monday evening, the brand’s other devices are also welcoming their new operating systems. This is particularly the case for iPads, for which iPadOS 18 doesn’t seem all that beneficial, at least for some models.

This is particularly the case with the latest iPad Pro M4s, which reportedly became completely unusable after receiving the installation of iPadOS 18. On Reddit, a user says that his iPad Pro M4 13″ first received iPadOS 17, without any apparent problem, then encountered a major problem with the installation of iPadOS 18. The iPad turned on and then suddenly turned off, never turning back on again afterward. At the Apple Store, he was told that his tablet was irreparable.

Apparently, this would be a general problem, since Apple has stopped rolling out iPadOS 18 to the M4 iPad Pro. Other users have encountered the same issue with this model, so it seems that it is a compatibility issue between the tablet and its update.
