The benchmark low-profile gaming keyboard just got better

Logitech presents its new range of wireless gaming keyboards with the G915 X models. Fans of low-profile keyboards, they are for you.

Logitech

Nearly 5 years ago, Logitech launched one of its most popular gaming keyboards: the G915. A reference that evokes for many the joys of wireless with the comfort of low-profile keys, a trend that was still a minority in the mechanical keyboard market.

During its Logi PLAY event which took place this Tuesday, September 17 in , Logitech has just announced its successor, the G 915 X, which is according to the manufacturer “the most advanced low-profile gaming keyboard ever“.

A reimagined typing experience

Three types of keys are always offered: linear, tactile and comfort click, except for the wired version which only offers the first two.

Logitech claims to have “completely redesigned» keyboard switches with cross-shaped stems and not hooks, allowing better stability of the keys and «a smoother and quieter typing experience“.

The reduced actuation point from 1.5 to 1.3mm allows for even faster input activation for the most responsive games. Logitech also promises PBT keycaps “more wear resistant” and even less sensitive to fingerprints. To be tested once the keyboard is in our hands.

Finally, the aluminum plate that forms the base of the G915 X has been thickened by a few millimeters to provide better stability to the whole. The keyboard gains a tiny millimeter of thickness in the operation (23 mm).

20% increase in autonomy

The keyboard also gains in autonomy this year: up to 36 hours at 100% brightness (compared to 30 hours previously) and 800 hours without backlighting for the full version.

The smaller version, TKL, promises only 2 more hours with the backlight on at maximum (42 hours) and up to 1000 hours without.

Logitech

Logitech has also added a new KEYCONTROL key that allows you to “any key to become an effective macro that combines multiple commands into one
pressure
“.

Otherwise, we remain on familiar ground with the presence of the volume wheel and the various multimedia buttons on the upper part of the keyboard.

Price and availability

Note that the G915 range welcomes this year a new wired model slightly less expensive than the rest. We remain on a price oscillating between 200 and 250 euros, the same prices as the original G915 range.

  • G915 X LIGHTSPEED standard keyboard (linear, tactile & click comfort) – RRP €249;
  • G915 X LIGHTSPEED TKL keyboard without numeric keypad (linear, tactile & click comfort) – RRP €229;
  • G915 X Wired gaming keyboard (linear & tactile) – RRP €199.

All three keyboards are available today from major retailers and on the Logitech website in black and white colors.
