The moderator Bob O’Donnell, president and founder of Technalysis Research, asked questions to the speakers on the advantages that users will draw from the Galaxy S25, as well as on the obstacles which prevent certain consumers from using mobile AI.

“AI should improve the lives of users. We study their habits, constantly seeking to understand them better, ”added Jay Kim. “Our ultimate goal is to minimize the effort necessary for the entry while maximizing the yield. To do this, we examine consumer activities on their phones, we define potential use cases with our partners and we integrate everything into our devices in order to offer the best possible experience. »»

“Multimodality can help people become more effective, while artificial intelligence agents can help people become more productive,” he continued. He also noted Samsung’s commitment to collaborate openly with his partners to move forward. Kim has also expressed his enthusiasm as to the possibilities offered by IA innovations, which are part of a new chapter of mobile technology.

Widen the Galaxy AI ecosystem thanks to an open collaboration

During the session, Samsung presented the work carried out in partnership with Google and Qualcomm to improve the innovations in terms of AI of the Galaxy S25 range.

“Even if the added value of the mobile AI is exceptional, it is of no use if users cannot access it. We had to analyze the existing aspects of consumer experience and think about how we could improve this experience so that it brings real advantages, while remaining easy to access, ”said Jay Kim . He pointed out that a close collaboration was essential, in particular to incorporate Google’s Gemini intelligence and the integrated treatment capacities of Qualcomm.

“To be really useful, AI must be integrated naturally into our daily life. It is a tool and not an end in itself, and what matters most to consumers is the usefulness it can have for them, “said Sameer Samat, president of the Android ecosystem at Google. “The LLM represents a considerable advance in the way in which computers interpret human language. Now you can speak in a completely natural language, without any friction in the global experience. »»

“I am convinced that the Galaxy S25 will allow people to get used to the use of an AI agent who will help them perform their tasks in a very natural way. »»

▲ Christopher Patrick de Qualcomm

The main drivers of multimodal AI capabilities, such as the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset of Qualcomm, have also been highlighted, showing a technology that simultaneously processes several forms of information, including voice, images and text.

“The Galaxy S25 offers an unprecedented experience. You can chat with your personalized AI assistant like never before. You will have the impression of interacting with a real person, he perceives your environment and interacts with the content displayed on your camera, “said Christopher Patrick, senior vice-president and managing director of mobile terminals at Qualcomm. “I am very proud of our collaboration with Samsung, which made it possible to personalize the chipset so that these new features are perfectly integrated. »»

Drop the barriers: mobile AI in the service of quality of life

In this same session, Samsung also unveiled the results of a global study conducted in partnership with the Symmetry design office, based in London, which examined the link between the use of mobile artificial intelligence and the quality of life. The speakers looked into the main implications of the study and formulated precious observations.

▲ Dr Chris Brauer de Goldsmiths, University of London, and Symmetry

“The speed of innovation in terms of AI is astounding, but I am particularly surprised to note through the study that we conducted with Samsung that the adoption rate of the mobile AI also increases at a dazzling pace “Said Dr. Chris Brauer, director of innovation at the Institute for Goldsmiths Management Studies, University of London, and Director of Innovation at Symmetry. “The frequent use of mobile AI by consumers has almost doubled in the space of six months, going from 16 % in July to 27 % in January. Dr. Brauer has also exposed the main conclusions concerning certain obstacles which slow down the progression of mobile AI.

“We note a very interesting theme among those who are less inclined to adopt technology: doubt,” he continued. “Doubt as to AI’s ability to provide significant advantages in daily life (56 %), doubt and lack of confidence to use AI to its full potential (85 %) and doubt as to Protection of privacy and the possibility of trusting AI (90 %). This technology conceals immense potential, but it also clearly appears that this larger adoption comes up against very real obstacles that will have to be overcome in a responsible manner. »»
