Finally a name for the XR headset of Samsung? A brand has been registered

To infinity and beyond… Samsung has filed a brand in several countries. It is very likely that it is the name of his future XR helmet.

During the last Samsung Unpacked event dedicated to the Galaxy S25, the Korean giant had made us a nice surprise by stealthily revealing his mixed reality headset (XR). The one called Project Moohan is the first device equipped with Android XR.

If the journalists present had been able to immortalize it in photos, including our photos, and that the famous Youtubeur MKBHD (BROWNLEE brands) had the privilege of testing it, a question remained unanswered: what would be its trade name?

“Beyond”: when the beyond becomes reality (mixed)

According to discoveries of Brad Lynch, Samsung has filed several requests for registration of brands in the United Kingdom and New Zealand for the name ” Beyond (Which means “beyond” in French). These deposits specifically concern virtual reality (VR), increased (AR) and mixed (XR) headsets, which leaves little doubt about their destination.

The choice of the name “Beyond” is not neutral. He evokes the idea of posting the limits, of going beyond what already exists-a promise, we will say.

On the other hand, Bigscreenvr, another company in the sector, already claims to have the rights on this appellation. A fairly common legal situation, Samsung is used to managing these legal conflicts.

The helmet, developed under the code name “Moohan” in collaboration with Google, is still largely surrounded by mystery. However, MKBHD’s first returns are encouraging, in particular concerning its comfort. The Youtubeur stresses that the fixing system, inspired by the Meta Quest Pro, offers a significant advantage compared to the Apple pro vision: no need for additional strap on the top of the head.

A particularly interesting point concerns its price positioning. Although no official price has been announced, rumors suggest that it could be marketed about half the price of Apple’s pro vision – 2000 euros – which seems necessary to hope to convince buyers to cross the not.

For the moment, the project remains at the prototype stage, and neither the release date nor the specific technical characteristics have been revealed.
