While the Galaxy S25 are starting to arrive at users, rumors concerning the Ultra S26 are already growing. According to prototypes under development, Samsung is planning to remove the cutting of the front camera, opting for an integrated solution under the screen.

According to information shared on X, the Galaxy S26 Ultra prototypes have no visible hole for the selfie camera. A configuration already used in the Galaxy Z Fold range, but with still perfectible photo results. For the Ultra S26, Samsung will have to significantly improve the quality of screen sensors (UDC) to avoid disappointment.

Although the project is at its beginnings, this development could bring the Korean giant closer to brands like Nubia, pioneers on this niche. Moreover, The model could be renamed “S26 Note”according to anterior rumors also evoking a brighter screen, a 200 megapixel periscope sensor and an exynos chip.

The ultra galaxy s26 could inherit a camera under the screen, like the Galaxy Z Fold

The Galaxy S25 Ultra, which retains a perforated screen inherited from 2018, already seems to be out of the point of these prototypes. UDC technology, introduced with the Z Fold 3, mask the camera by reducing the density of pixels locally, allowing the light to cross. If Samsung software progress has reduced the quality gap with traditional sensors, selfies are less detailed. On the Z Fold 6, this limit is offset by a second external front camera, a luxury that the S26 Ultra, with a single front camera, could not afford.

For the moment, Samsung would test several trackswithout official confirmation. In addition to the screen camera, the manufacturer would study a more efficient battery stacking technology. However, development times leave a margin of uncertainty.

If the idea seduces for its sleek design, its adoption will depend on technical progress by 2025. Selfie -demanding users may be skeptical, but Samsung would bet on innovation to stand out. To follow …
