It is in a recently released update note that Snapchat announces the arrival of its application on iPad. It will be perfectly adapted to Apple’s tablet, now able to fill the entire screen for a better user experience.

Snapchat finally on iPad

Snapchat is a social network that needs no introduction. Founded in 2011it is a real phenomenon of the last decade. Its creators, Evan Spiegel, Reggie Brown et Bobby Murphyall students at Stanford University in California, had the idea of launching a social network where users would post photos and videos that are only visible for a few moments, before disappear.

The rest of the story is not a spoiler, since this idea will be a real success, although Snapchat is not as popular as Facebook and Instagram today. In order not to end up too far behind the competition, Snapchat has finally decided to bring its application to iPad, 13 years after its launch.

Snapchat on iPad

This news appeared in a release notewho explains: “Snapchat is now supported on iPad! That means Snapchat will fill your iPad’s entire screen, giving you a bigger board for bigger Snaps, and allowing you to see more friends on the 2nd and 4th windows. It’s the same Snapchat app you love, but on a bigger screen!” Prior to this update, Snapchat users looking to put their iPad to good use had to settle for the version iOSwhich was not suitable for Apple’s tablet.

If the iPad is your daily machine, this update will do you a world of good. It’s hard to believe that Snapchat users will start taking out their tablets in public, as smartphones are always less cumbersome to handle, in addition to being perfectly adapted to the ephemeral nature from social network to little ghost.

“We have our noses elsewhere at the moment”

As for Instagram, they are not for the moment not ready to follow Snapchat in this pursuit of the iPad. In 2022, a version made for Apple’s tablet was not a priority for them. This is what Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri explained in response to a post on X (formerly Twitter) from YouTuber Marques Brownlee, wondering about the absence of a dedicated Instagram app on iPad in 2022.

“It’s not a large enough user base to make it a priority. We hope to work on it one day, but we have our noses elsewhere at the moment.” explains the CEO of Instagram. In 2023, this iPad version was clearly not a priority either, explaining once again on Instagram Stories that the company would not don’t work on itand that they have other fish to fry at the moment.
