The social network Instagram will allow you to comment on stories and see your comments appear publicly.
This is a change that could make some noise. Instagram is currently rolling out a new feature for Stories users. Until now, you could only comment on a Story privately, by sending a message to the user who posted the content. But soon your comments will be visible to everyone.
The feature in question, which was made official by Instagram on Tuesday, September 3, is currently being rolled out within the application. Users should therefore be able to enjoy it in the coming hours or days.
Public comments that can be disabled
To do this, when you watch a story, you must tap on the small bubble appearing at the bottom left of the screen, which will open the section dedicated to comments. You will then be able to leave a public message and see those already online. However, it is always possible to send a private message to the author of the story if they make it possible.
Although it is active by default, the option can nevertheless be deactivated via the settings:
- Go to your profile
- Go to your account settings
- Then look for the “Comments” option and then “Story Comments”
- Check the “Disabled” box
Note that it is also possible to enable the option so that everyone can comment on your story, including those who are not subscribed to your account.
The functionality is however limited on accounts belonging to minor users who can only benefit from comments if they follow the account wishing to comment and vice versa.
