Apple has unveiled with great fanfare its new products planned for the holiday season.

No big surprises for Apple but, of course, new products. The American company unveiled, this Monday, September 9, during a conference, most of the new products that will perhaps adorn the shelves for the end-of-year celebrations.

Tech&Co summarizes Apple’s main announcements for you.

· An iPhone 16 that gains buttons

The iPhone 16 is, as it has been for several years now, offered in several versions. In its basic and Plus versions, the Apple smartphone gains an action button similar to that of the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max. In other words, you can use this button to easily access an action such as taking photos, the flashlight or even activating the dictaphone.

Another, touch-sensitive one, lets you control various options while you take a photo or video, including zoom or lens type, or depth of field and exposure.

The design, however, hardly changes compared to the iPhone 15. But it is rather inside that the modifications are the most important. The A18 chip is thus present, in particular to prepare for the arrival of AI in iOS (but not in Europe).

The iPhone 16 will be released on September 20 starting at 969 euros. The iPhone Plus starts at 1199 euros.

· An even more professional iPhone 16 Pro

Apple’s top-of-the-line smartphones, the iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max, are a smooth evolution from last year’s models. They’re slightly larger (6.3 inches versus 6.1 inches on the Pro, 6.9 inches versus 6.7 inches on the Pro Max), with even thinner bezels. They also feature the same camera control button seen on the iPhone 16.

On the chip side, it’s an A18 Pro that will be there, which will allow slow motion in cinematic mode, and 4K at 120FPS.

The iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max will be released on September 20. The first will be on sale from 1,229 euros, the second from 1,479 euros.

· The Apple Watch in all its forms for its 10th anniversary

Apple had something up its sleeve regarding the Apple Watch. Its connected watch, largely oriented towards health, was expected at the turning point since it celebrates its tenth anniversary in 2024.

But for this tenth anniversary, no special gimmicks. The Apple Watch Series 10 does not see its design really change. The screen nevertheless gains in size, while the 41mm and 44mm formats are abandoned in favor of the 42mm and 46mm. It gains a detector for sleep apnea, an option that will however not arrive immediately in watchOS, but by the end of the year in 150 countries, including France. The Apple Watch Series 9 and the Apple Watch Ultra 2 will also be entitled to it.

The Apple Watch Series 10 will be released on September 20 starting at 449 euros.

Airpods 4 with noise reduction

Present at Samsung, but not without flaws, noise reduction is now a reality on the Airpods 4 which retain a design very similar to the previous models.

Concretely, these are still not in-ear headphones, but the internal chip will act to reduce ambient noise as much as possible, as far as possible. A real challenge that will have to pass the test, while the Airpods Pro, which are in-ear, justify their price by real active noise reduction, in particular thanks to a specific chip and microphones. However, this option will only be available in the most expensive model.

The Airpods 4 will be released on September 20 at 149 euros, 199 euros with active noise reduction.

· Promises on the artificial intelligence side

We couldn’t really ignore the promises of Apple Intelligence, Apple’s in-house AI, already presented in June. A concrete example: from a simple photo, the iPhone will offer immediate information, such as the breed of a dog you spot in the street, or details about a concert whose poster you’ve spotted. But we’ll have to wait a little longer, probably until 2025, to see this function appear.
