Bora Đorđević: I do not support the government

Bora Đorđević, frontman of the legendary rock band Riblja chorba, gave one of his last interviews for Sportklub in May. A great sports fan and passionate fan of Crvena zvezda, Igor Miklja spoke for “Sportlight” about topics not related to sports: the media, people who comment on the news on social networks, politics…

On that occasion, Bora also referred to his performance at the meeting of the Serbian Progressive Party in April 2019, which angered some of the “Fish Stew” fans, given his reputation as an eternal rebel.

“I do not support the government. That is wrong. I sang at that rally. In the conversation with Vučić, Vučić told me something like this – I know that we disagree on many things, but it would be good if you appeared at that meeting now. I said it’s true that we don’t agree on many things, and then I looked at who the opposition was and realized that the opposition at that moment was zero, nothing. Now the situation is a little different. But if you think that I agree with Vučić about p****, there is no question. “No, there is no question and that is clear to me and to Vučić,” he said then.

How Bora saved KST

However, for a time he himself was part of the executive power, as an adviser to the Minister of Culture Dragan Kojadinović. From the horn period, as he revealed in “Sportlight”, he is most proud of saving the Club of Technical Students (KST).

“Some powerful people put their paws on KST, which was the only real student club at that time, so I managed to prevent them from turning KST into a profitable pub”

Reserve goalkeeper in FK Pekar

At that time, Boro also talked about his sports career and how he defended for Pekar Football Club.

“I was the fourth goalkeeper of FK Pekar. I was a goalkeeper for a year and a half and I progressed from the fourth goalkeeper – I reached the first reserve. Because one went to prison, and one went to the army,” stated the frontman of Riblja chorba.

He never hid his love for Red Star.

“Then I went north to hang out with all those crazy people. The north is more interesting to me, when you are among people. When we can’t fight with you (partisans, prim.aut.) we fight with the police, and when we can’t fight with the police, we fight among ourselves,” said Bora Đorđević.

The legendary rocker and frontman of the group “Riblja chorba” died today in a hospital in Ljubljana at the age of 72.
