Bora Đorđević will be buried in Čačak, he will also get a street in his hometown

The mayor of Čačak, Milun Todorović, confirmed that the musician Bora Đorđević, who died today in Ljubljana, will be buried in Čačak.

As reported by Ozonpress, he said that the legend of the rock and roll scene of Serbia and the region, a masterful and unsurpassed musician, songwriter and frontman of the biggest rock group Riblja chorba, has left us.

“At the age of 72, Bora Đorđević, an icon of Čačak and a man who left an indelible mark in the hearts of all generations in four and a half decades of musical creativity, died. Having long ago become immortal for his people from Čačan and Čačak, he was included in the ranks of the greatest legends that this city gave birth to. Dear Boro, dear friend, thank you for every stanza and every measure I grew up with. Thank you for every advice and kind word, and the biggest thank you for considering me a friend. I promise you in my own name and in the name of all the people of Čačan, and you already knew it, that you will never be forgotten”, said Milun Todorović.

He added that Čačak will soon have a street named after Bora Đorđević, as he said, “a street that some new, future generations will walk on, learning verses and tones that will never fade from their memories.”

“Your last wish to be buried in your hometown will be fulfilled and as you said yourself, you will return to the slopes of Jelica to stay forever in Čačak,” said Todorović.
