“A man who always listened exclusively to his heart left us”: Žika Milenković on Bora Čorba

The legendary rocker and frontman of the group “Riblja chorba” Bora Đorđević died in a hospital in Ljubljana at the age of 72.

Musician Žika Milenković, member of the group “Bajaga and Instructors” and frontman of “Baba”, says that “a man left us who always listened exclusively to his heart both in terms of life and in terms of art”.

“He never gave in to it. One of the most honest people I know, and I’ve known him since ’78. I’ve known him since Chorba had its premiere and the presentation of the group, after that we managed to hang out, we had a joint tour… Simply, I’m one of the many people who knew him personally and had the pleasure of spending some moments together, as a man was a genius, but I don’t want to talk about art,” says Milenković.

He is, says Milenkovic, “the father of many ideas”.

“Many people started playing music thanks to Bora and his lyrics, ideas and music in general. He had an army of fans throughout the region, people who loved him never stopped loving him, there are some who were disappointed, but that’s up to them, not up to him, he never lied to himself, he did what his heart led him to do” , he says.

When asked to choose one song, he chose “Good Morning”.
