Kylian Mbappé has ended his goalless streak in the Primera División in the fourth game. The French striker scored his first two goals at the end of the fourth matchday of the Spanish championship, leading Real Madrid to a 2-0 home victory over Real Betis Sevilla. Mbappé scored his first goal in the 67th minute after fine work by Federico Valverde. The 25-year-old 2018 world champion scored goal number two from a penalty in the 75th minute after visiting goalkeeper Rui Silva had brought down Vinicius Junior.

With their second win in four games, defending champions Real Madrid moved up to second place with eight points. League leaders FC Barcelona are four points ahead. The long-defending guests from Real Betis, in which Swiss international Ricardo Rodríguez sat on the bench for the entire game, fell back to 17th place with just two points.

The Swiss player, who plays for Betis’ city rivals, Djibril Sow, came on as a substitute for Sevilla FC in the 82nd minute, but was unable to prevent his team from losing 2-0 to Girona.
