Star DJ Jackmaster dies in Ibiza at the age of 35

Scottish musician, DJ and producer Jack Revill, known by his stage name Jackmaster, is dead. The family of the deceased announced on Instagram: “It is with deep regret that we confirm the untimely passing of Jack Revill, known to many as Jackmaster. Jack tragically died on the morning of October 12th in Ibiza, following complications arising from an accidental head injury.”

Revill was born in Glasgow in 1986. There he worked in the well-known record store Rubadub. He also founded the Numbers label, which offered a number of today’s high-profile artists such as Jamie xx (35) a stage before they became more popular. As a DJ, Jack Revill played at the Warehouse in Manchester and in Glastonbury. Also the legendary one Berliner Berghain booked him.

The family’s Instagram post continued: “Jack’s passion for music and his tireless drive to push creative boundaries through his work at Numbers Label and Rubadub Records in Glasgow, including discovering countless innovative artists, made him a popular and pioneering figure in the electronic music community both in front of and behind the scenes.”

The family of the deceased, his partner Kate and his two sons Sean and Johnny, are now “completely heartbroken”.
