TELEVISION – “Keep the best of those we were.” By discovering the first episode of the new season of Star Academy, broadcast this Saturday, October 12 on TF1, fans couldn’t help but express a touch of nostalgia for the previous season. Still attached to the class of 2023, which notably revealed Pierre Garnier, big winner of the show, but also Lénie, Julien Lieb, Clara, Margot… Viewers will have to get to know the new candidates.

The castle of Dammarie-les-Lys welcomed fifteen new candidates this Saturday, from all over France: Charles, Ebony, Emma, ​​Franck, Marguerite, Marine, Masseo, Maureen, Maïa, Noah, Paul, Thomas, Ulysse, Julie and Maylis. The reactions on X (ex-twitter) were quick: “When are they coming? »asks an Internet user, reposting the faces of the candidates from the previous promotion. “Me trying to accept that it’s no longer the castle of the class of 2023 and that these strangers are now at home for 3 months…”, comments another.

The former candidates also did not hide their emotion at seeing a new season begin, a year after their adventure. Lénie notably wrote the following message on her Instagram account: “Just a year ago, I was about to experience what turned out to be an incredible adventure at Star Academy, and today, as the new season begins, my heart is filled with gratitude.” Enough to redouble the emotion of the fans.

TF1 “expected around the corner” after a successful season

“After an incredible season, we knew we were going to be expected around the corner,” admitted the director of streaming programs at TF1, Rémi Faure, in an interview with Le Point. To ensure the success of this new season, “o“We therefore looked for very strong artists with a musical universe and voices that stand out compared to those of last year”, he specifies.

These students, aged 18 to 24, were also described as “solar and capable of arousing emotions” by Jean-Louis Blot, producer of the show. “Interactions between candidates are unpredictable,” he admits, however, while the last promotion, united by its benevolence and authenticity, had won over the public.

This new casting still attracted 3.20 million viewers this Saturday for the first part of the show and 2.54 million for the second, a slight drop compared to the previous season, which had gathered respectively 3.76 million and 3.10 million viewers for its first prime.

Viewers still found a familiar face: that of Michael Goldman, who retains his position as director. However, some emblematic teachers have been replaced, such as singing teacher Adeline Toniutti, who gives way to lyrical singing specialist Sofia Morgavi. Joe, the sports teacher, was also replaced by Ladji Doucouré, world champion in the 110 meter hurdles and multi-medalist.

For those nostalgic, good news is still on the horizon. According to 20 MinutesPierre Garnier was asked by production to intervene as “exceptional teacher” with Patrick Fiori. Lara Fabian and Julien Doré were also appointed “exceptional teachers”. Finally, the singer Clara Luciani was chosen as godmother of the promotion.
