He is said to have collected a six-figure sum from a total of eleven companies. Subsidy fraud can result in up to five years in prison. A spokeswoman for the Munich I public prosecutor’s office told the “Bild Zeitung”: “The investigations are already well advanced and the proceedings are expected to be concluded soon.”

The consequence of a new investigation was the revocation of the prison privileges he had acquired since February. He had actually previously been released and was even allowed to spend two nights in his apartment in Munich. However, these special regulations have now been withdrawn. Schuhbeck had even organized a small job in his freedom. He was supposed to be working in the bistro on the FC Bayern Munich campus from October onwards. This project is now also on hold.

The 75-year-old is supposed to pass the time in prison with a lot of sports and reading. His lawyer said that he enjoyed continuing his education, especially in the field of herbalism. He does not have to work behind bars because he is considered a pensioner at his advanced age. And sometimes the phone in the prison even rings and friends of the restaurateur call. One of them is said to be Arnold Schwarzenegger, who inquires about the well-being of his friend of decades and stands by him during this difficult time. An acquaintance of the Terminator told “Bild”: “Arnold never forgets his friends!” Schwarzenegger is said to have also considered visiting Schuhbeck in prison during Oktoberfest. However, this would not have been possible in the end for secondary reasons.
