Max Kruse is causing a stir on “Celebrity Big Brother” with intimate confessions about his career. The former international speaks openly about an incident that cost him his participation in the 2014 World Cup.

During a game of poker in London, he ordered an escort girl to his room, which had fatal consequences, as “ran.de” reports. Kruse admits that he often organized these visits on another floor.

That evening he was inattentive and let the lady come straight into his room, as “focus online” writes. Shortly afterwards, assistant coach Hansi Flick and manager Oliver Bierhoff appeared at the door.

They instructed him to send the escort lady home.

Career break due to misstep

The incident led to a serious conversation with those responsible at the DFB. They made it clear to him that his behavior could damage the team’s reputation.

Kruse was given a choice: concentrate on football or not play the World Cup in the summer. Despite his efforts, Kruse was ultimately not nominated for the World Cup squad.

“The most blatant event” in a football career

Two days before the announcement, he received a call from national coach Joachim Löw. He gave him the disappointing news.

Kruse describes this moment as the “craziest event” of his football career.

Objection from Löw

National coach Löw sees the reasons for Kruse’s non-nomination differently. In an interview he stated that Kruse simply wasn’t good enough and that the hotel incident didn’t play a role.

Max Kruse is a German footballer who was born on March 19, 1988 in Reinbek. He began his career at TSV Reinbek and later played for various clubs, including Werder Bremen, FC St. Pauli and Borussia Mönchengladbach.
