Ambühl’s 1270th game in the top Swiss league couldn’t have started better. He contributed the second assist to Matej Stransky’s 1-0 goal after 27 seconds. It was the 41-year-old’s 722nd scoring point in the National League (previously NLA), his fourth this season.

Ambühl was also able to celebrate at the end. The Davos team fell behind 1:2 (23rd) and 2:3 (45th). Bern’s third goal was scored by 20-year-old defender Louis Füllmann, who was successful in the National League for the first time. However, Filip Zadina saved the record champions with his sixth goal of the season to make it 3-3 (56th) in extra time.

In Graubünden’s fifth home game in the current championship, it was the fourth time that the spectators were able to enjoy overtime, although the decision was made in a penalty shootout for the second time. While the HCD had lost this against Kloten, this time they kept the better end for themselves. Stransky scored both attempts and secured Davos’ victory with the 14th penalty.

This was okay, the hosts were the more active team and created more good chances. In the 34th minute, Ambühl almost made it 2-2 with a deflection from close range, but Bern keeper Adam Reideborn parried with his saver. Thanks to the two points, the Davos team improved from 11th to 9th place in the table . Despite the defeat, Bern moved from 6th to 5th place. (sda/lyn)
