Greta Thunberg accuses police of being threatening

After the evacuation of a protest camp set up by “pro-Palestinian” demonstrators in Dortmund because of a planned visit by Greta Thunberg, the Swedish activist made allegations against the German authorities.

“Germany is threatening and silencing activists who speak out against the genocide and occupation in Palestine,” she said in a video message published on the X platform after the protest camp of a student initiative in Dortmund was broken up by the police. Thunberg says the police told the students she would be arrested if she went there.

She called for people to support the student movement in Dortmund and everywhere “where people are confronted with oppression”. “We will not be silenced,” she concluded.

“Internal error”

The Dortmund police ended the protest camp, described as “pro-Palestinian,” on Tuesday after Thunberg’s visit was announced there. The police initially announced on Tuesday evening: “The recent events in connection with Thunberg led to the assessment that she was a violent participant.”

The authority later withdrew this statement and, when asked, spoke of an “internal error”. A statement on this is being prepared, a police spokeswoman said on Wednesday.

The police also justified the ban on the protest camp by saying, among other things, that Thunberg’s appearance would probably have attracted more people than originally allowed.

Greta Thunberg has positioned herself on the side of terror since the Palestinian terrorist organization Hamas attacked Israel a year ago and Israel’s subsequent military action against the attackers.

The Federal Government’s anti-Semitism commissioner, Felix Klein, called Thunberg’s statements on the Middle East conflict last year “anti-Israel and also anti-Semitic due to the hidden denial of Israel’s right to exist.” dpa/yes
