Next Friday the promising anime brawler “Dragon Ball: Sparking” will finally be released! Zero”. Buyers of the Deluxe and Ultimate Editions can even get started tonight. The recently received press reviews now show whether the fans’ high expectations will be fulfilled.

It seems that fans will not be disappointed: currently the metascore is 83 points. There are currently 35 ratings, only one of which was mixed. Nobody views the game negatively.

“Triumphal Return to the Budokai Tenkaichi Series”

MeuPlayStation, the proud one, is completely over the moon 95 points awarded: “Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero offers everything fans of Akira Toriyama’s saga have been waiting for: a triumphant return to the Budokai Tenkaichi series. With its exceptional gameplay, stunning graphics and an impressive roster of over 180 playable characters, Sparking! “Zero stands out as one of the top titles of 2024.”

Noisy Pixel is also enthusiastic and gives the game 90 points: “Dragon Ball Sparking! A totally addictive delight that fires on all cylinders, Zero is the dream Dragon Ball game for fans worldwide. While the story mode contains poorly implemented retreads, the high number of what-if scenarios more than make up for this shortcoming.”

There is still room for improvement, especially in multiplayer

Vandal hits exactly the average 85 points: “It’s been a long wait since Budokai Tenkaichi 3, but this is the sequel we’ve been waiting for. Sure, there’s still room for improvement, especially in multiplayer, but overall it’s a fantastic fighting game that recreates the combat of Toriyama’s unforgettable saga.”

Anyway 80 points is available from Siliconera. Her simple conclusion: “After being unimpressed with Jujutsu Kaisen Cursed Clash and Naruto X Boruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections, I was impressed with Dragon Ball Sparking! Zero pleasantly surprised.”

The only neutral rating comes from Gamereactor UK, which only 70 points have decided: “Ultimately, Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero like a game that is made primarily for the fans. It’s brimming with fan service and the amount of content and characters proves that the developer wants to satisfy the needs of as many people as possible. For this reason, the playability feels a bit like an imprecise slap in the face, as this otherwise competent action game sometimes struggles in practice.”
