Oura Ring 4: here is the new connected ring competing with the Samsung Galaxy Ring

While Samsung entered the connected ring market in 2024 with the Galaxy Ring, other brands have been there for a long time. This is the case of Oura, which decided to respond this fall with a fourth generation.

On October 3, 2024, the brand lifted the veil on the Ring 4, a model that seems to have everything to please the general public. To begin with, the design has been improved, with a layer of titanium to hide the sensors and improve comfort.

To fit as many fingers as possible, Oura has also chosen to offer its new ring in 12 different sizes. The opportunity to enjoy a very light ring, weighing between 3.3 and 5.2 grams.

Where Garmin remains skeptical of connected watches, the measurements taken by the new connected ring are announced as more complete and precise. This is notably due to the introduction of a new algorithm called Smart Sensing, delivering more reliable data for blood oxygenation (SpO2) and heart rate.

The Ring 4 finally benefits from better autonomy, with one day more use compared to the Ring 3. It is thus possible to keep it for eight days without having to go through the recharge box.

Oura’s latest ring, still available in six colors (silver, brushed silver, black, gold, rose gold and dark gray), will be available from October 15, 2024. Pre-orders are already open, and have a price ranging from 399 € to €549 depending on the shades.

Please note, you will need to add a monthly subscription to the Ring 4 of €5.99/month or €69.99/year to benefit from all the features and data of the Oura application. A new version of the latter has also been deployed, with a redesigned and simplified interface to monitor all the information collected by the ring, and the resulting health trends.
