Update: Salt malfunction fixed, cause remains unclear

On Wednesday morning, problems with Salt’s services increased in Switzerland. Thousands of customers reported outages – both mobile communications and landline internet were affected. The problem has now been resolved, but the cause remains unclear.

Update from October 2nd, 2024, 10:50 a.m.: Salt’s services are back online after this morning’s breakdown. Upon request, the telco confirmed that there had been a “short-term partial disruption of the Internet and mobile services”. This has now been resolved and all services are working again. The number of reports on the alletreib.ch portal has been declining again since around 9:30 a.m.

However, the reason for the disruption is still unclear. Salt is working to determine the exact cause, the telco said. “However, we cannot provide any further information at this time.”

If you continue to have problems accessing the Internet, Salt recommends restarting your device. In most cases this can solve the problem.
