Arnautovic goal in Inter’s clear home win against Belgrade

Inter Milan achieved their first victory on matchday two of the UEFA Champions League. The “Nerazzurri” celebrated a 4-0 home win against Red Star Belgrade in the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium.

The game starts with Marko Arnautovic’s supposed opening goal (4th). However, the ÖFB legionnaire is offside, which is why the goal is canceled. In the eleventh minute, teammate Hakan Calhanoglu scored in regulation, the free kick was unstoppable for Belgrade keeper Omri Glazer – 1-0.

On the other side, Andrija Maksimovic narrowly missed the equalizer with a hair-sharp shot over the crossbar (20th). Inter scored again in the 21st minute, but the goal was disallowed according to video evidence. After Henrikh Mkhitaryan (24th) found his match in Glazer in the six-yard box and circled the ball just over the crossbar in the 40th minute, Peter Olayinka provided Belgrade (42nd) with the last notable action before the break.

Taremi initiates Arnautovic’s goal

After the break, the game initially remained calm until Arnautovic (59th) scored his goal in the game after work from Mehdi Taremi. The ÖFB record team player places a low shot unstoppably into the net.

The attacker left the pitch in the 64th minute for Lautaro Martinez, who in turn scored in the 71st minute after another Taremi assist to make it 3-0.

Shortly afterwards there is a shorter interruption. Referee Felix Zwayer whistled for a penalty in the 78th minute, but checked the video footage and ultimately decided on the penalty. Taremi converted this (81.) and thus sealed the 4-0.

Inter holds four points and is in fifth place in the table. Red Star Belgrade is 32nd with no points.
