Misano, MotoGP (FP1): Marquez in control!

Four Ducatis in the first four places: the Italian brand starts its Emilia Romagna Grand Prix on a usual note, with Marc Marquez at the top ahead of Jorge Martin, Franco Morbidelli and Francesco Bagnaia.

The track at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli is starting to dry out nicely, although there are still some damp patches on the ground. This allowed the MotoGP riders to get closer to the 1’31s at the start of the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix on Friday morning.

Timed in 1’32.082, Marc Marquez has put his name at the top of the standings and will be hoping to make it three wins in a row this weekend. He will have to overcome a Jorge Martin in search of revenge and only 0.063s behind. His teammate Franco Morbidelli also performed third. As did the two-time reigning world champion Francesco Bagnaia which completes the top 4.

The first machine from another brand is the Aprilia RS-GP from Maverick Vinalesfifth. The best KTM is that of Pedro Acosta, seventh just ahead of his future teammate Brad Binder. The South African is ahead of the Frenchman Fabio Quartararo and its Yamaha. For Honda, you have to go down to the end of the table: Luca Marini is seventeenth, the Azurean Johann Zarco just behind.
