Last Sunday, FC Lindenberg won the West Allgäu derby against TSV Röthenbach 2:1 – but the A-League duel was not only a success in sporting terms. As chairman Johannes Dotschkail announced, 600 euros were collected for a good cause on the sidelines of the event.

As reported, the association had planned to donate the entrance fee on that day to the farmer Bernhard Reichart from the Scheidegger community of Unterstein, who was the victim of a serious fire this summer.

His brother was a coach at FC Lindenberg for many years and is still active in the club today. At the beginning of July, the agricultural part of the farm was destroyed. The fire departments from Scheidegg, Scheffau, Weiler and Lindenberg managed to save the house, but the damage is still extensive. The police’s initial estimates put the cost at around half a million euros.

FCL rounds up amount

Dotschkail is aware that the donation amount is low considering the damage – but the club still wanted to help. 250 euros were raised through entry fees, and donations from the Haggenmiller bookbinding company, the Josef Fink art publisher and the TSV Röthenbach players brought in just over 500 euros at the end of the day.

The FCL rounded up to 600 euros. Karl Wohllaib, who runs an agricultural machinery company in Langen, also contributed a 250-euro voucher.
