Big worries about Martin Ödegaard! A potentially serious injury to the Arsenal superstar has overshadowed Norway’s 2-1 victory in the Nations League against Ralf Rangnick and Austria.

After 64 minutes, Ödegaard twisted his left ankle in a tackle. The 25-year-old fell to the ground screaming and held his hands to his face in pain. Ödegaard was unable to continue; he was supported by team staff in tears and escorted to the dressing room. Kristian Thorstvedt replaced the offensive superstar (67′).

At the time of the injury, the score between Norway and Austria was 1:1. Felix Horn Myhre gave the hosts an early lead after a strong opening phase (9th minute). Austria, which started with nine Bundesliga players, struggled at first, and it was only after around 20 minutes that Rangnick’s team took control of the game. Borussia Dortmund’s Marcel Sabitzer (37th minute) scored the deserved equaliser shortly before half-time.

For the second half, Norway’s national coach Staale Solbakken brought on Antonio Nusa. The shooting star of RB Leipzig revived his team’s offensive play, but after a great individual move he missed the chance to give the home team the lead again (73′). Seven minutes later, however, Haaland made the decision from close range (80′).
