Major fire in Oberrieden: Alterswiss warns

A fire broke out on Saturday in the municipality of Oberrieden ZH on Lake Zurich. This led to a significant development of smoke and a strong, unpleasant smell, as Alertswiss warns. An attic, a hedge and a speed measuring device were affected.

Residents and passers-by are urgently asked to keep windows and doors closed and to switch off ventilation and air conditioning systems to prevent smoke from entering.

Due to the location of the fire, there is a risk of it spreading to neighboring buildings. Emergency services are on site and are trying to bring the flames under control. To ensure safety, the affected area should be avoided.

An eyewitness on site reported that the fire broke out shortly before 12.45 p.m. “There is an extremely large amount of smoke,” said the news scout. Police and firefighters were on site in large numbers. An unpleasant smell was spreading.

“A large drone is now being used,” the reader continues. The radar device in the fire area was only set up on Friday.
