Champions League: YB vs Galatasaray not on free TV on SRF

Starting this season, SRF will be showing the Champions League again – but football fans who were looking forward to the decisive qualifying duel between YB and Galatasaray in Istanbul will be disappointed. Because: SRF will not be showing the match live on free TV from Istanbul on Tuesday evening.

In July, the SRF wrote on its media platform: “The playoffs are also part of the live program if a local team is represented in them.” But that is not the case. This is because, in agreement with rights holder blue, the SRF is only allowed to show games on Wednesdays, as “Persönlich” writes. The YB duel, however, is taking place today, Tuesday.

Anyone who wants to watch the YB game on TV needs a subscription to blue – 20 minutes is reporting on the million-dollar game in front of a good 52,000 fans from Istanbul in the live ticker.

The YB players and coach Patrick Rahmen are excited about the duel. Rahmen says: “We are looking forward to the game on Tuesday evening in front of a large crowd.” He expects a concentrated offensive from the opponent. But: They don’t want to hide. “We have arguments,” explains the head coach.

Sandro Lauper expects a difficult game. Also because of the crowd. At the press conference he said: “We are aware that it gets louder in the stadium every time the opponent enters our penalty area. We want to avoid that if possible.”

It is still unclear who will guard YB’s goal. David von Ballmoos suffered a shoulder injury in the first leg last week. Substitute goalie Marvin Keller put in a fabulous performance afterward. However, Rahmen explains: “Things are looking good for David.”
